May 11, 2024 - Kokedama Workshop with Forced Bulbs

Examples of kokedama moss ball and suitable houseplants to use.

Make two kokedama "moss ball" designs using forced houseplants, succulents, spring bulbs and moss.  Your kokedama can be hung or displayed in a bowl. Learn the mechanics of assembly, suitable plants, resources and care instructions. 1-1/2 hour program.    

Note: Please bring your own clippers, all other supplies provided. This is a fun but messy project, please wear your “play clothes” and bring gloves (if you like gloves).

March 9 - Spring is Almost Here Floral Workshop

Celebrate the return of Spring with an early spring arrangement in a rustic birch container.

Celebrate the coming of spring by making a floral arrangement comprised of flowering branches, early spring flowers (think tulips and hellebores), evergreens and other foliage.  Mechanics will be chicken wire in a rustic birch bark container (all reusable).  Join us and enjoy mindfulness via flower arranging.

Dec 10 - Pot et Fleur Dish Garden

Celebrate the winter holidays with a mixed floral/evergreen arrangement.

'Pot et fleur' arrangements combine potted plants with cut flowers and give you the best of both worlds: easy-care foliage houseplants combined with seasonal flowers.  This seasonal arrangement is made in a lined basket and can easily be refreshed and maintained for several weeks.  Learn suitable plants, mechanics for the cut flowers, and sources of supplies.  Make your own 'pot et fleur' to grace your home for the winter holidays or as a gift.

November 19, 2023 - Thanksgiving Low Centerpiece

Make a beautiful low oval centerpiece to grace your Thanksgiving table.  We'll use an assortment of long-lasting seasonal flowers and greenery, with unique textural elements.  Learn floral design principles and ways to extend the life of your arrangement.  Please bring your own clippers. All other supplies will be provided.

Learn two different ways to make a hand-tied floral bouquet using seasonal flowers, including dahlias, zinnias and strawflowers. The two methods are the Flat Lay technique and the Spiral technique. After taking this class (and practicing!), you’ll be able to whip up beautiful flower bouquets, perfect for birthdays and holidays. Learn the best flowers and foliage to use, stem preparation, wrapping your bouquet, and how to extend the vase life of your flowers.

Learn to make unique "botanical jewelry.”  Every registrant will make a variety of floral wearables, including a beautiful wrist corsage or cuff, floral crown, ring and floral "tattoos." We will be using using fresh and dried flowers, succulents, berries and foliage.  Learn the best flowers and foliage for making floral wearables. Learn how to make a hydration chamber to store your floral creations so they last longer (a week or more!).
